I have been playing in a lot of Rush poker tournaments. I've been coming up with some techniques to playing them and I've made it to the top 10% in the last 3 tournaments. Do you guys know of any articles or blogs on rush poker strategies? Here's what I've came up with so far, (I am not a very advanced poker player so please give me some input)
#1: I let myself time out (Never quick fold) the less hands you play the better off you are.
#2: I never bet the flop but always bet the river, if its been checked to me.
#3: Steal a lot of the blinds. You can steal the blinds on 4 or 5 tables before you actually get caught.
Like I said I am just starting out so let me know what you guys think.

It's a good sign you trying to learn. I am not good at tournaments as I focus on cash games but I will try to answer this as best I can and maybe play some rush poker tournaments to put it to the test.
#1: I wouldn't do this because you might be robbing yourself of great hands.
#2: If I have a solid hand on the flop, I would want to pull as many chips from my opponents chip stack as I can so I would bet on the flop depending on the hand.
#3: I haven't tried this but I will surely do so now.
Thanks for sharing, I hope we all can help each other become better poker players.

I'm still trying to get my feet under me in Rush tourneys. I don't quite have the rhythm down yet. The first two tables, I usually finish 5th or 6th, the last two tables I usually finish in the top 3, but by then my points are too low to do me any good. I do try to steal pots when I'm in late position and no one has bet/raised, and this sometimes works (sometimes one of the players is just sandbagging and I get clobbered.) Only in 1 Rush tourney did I get enough points to pay for the buy-in. And I'm playing with play chips, not real cash.

After doing some studying on different rush poker tournament strategies and putting what I learn into action. I wrote an article I think will help everyone fix the leaks in their game and I added it to RBR. Go to our rush poker tournament strategy page to read up on it and put it into action.
Please post here how it worked out for you and your thoughts about the strategy.

Players sitting at a Rush Poker table are instantly moved to a new table the moment they fold a hand. Players have the option to fold before the action gets to them, so depending on the hands dealt and position, a player could go through dozens of hands in a matter of minutes.
Critics of the format say it is a bastardization of poker because there is little to no opportunity for players to develop a read on the others at the table, nor can a player develop and take advantage of table image. Grinders and poker math geeks have praised the development because it allows them to dramatically increase the number of hands per hour they can play, and as a result, their theoretical profit.
